Which RAID configuration is fastest?
RAID 0
RAID 0 is the only RAID type without fault tolerance. It is also by far the fastest RAID type. RAID 0 works by using striping, which disperses system data blocks across several different disks.
Which one is better AHCI or RAID?
If you are using a SATA SSD drive, AHCI may be more suitable than RAID. If you are using multiple hard drives, RAID is a better choice than AHCI. If you want to use an SSD plus extra HHDs under RAID mode, it’s recommended that you continue using RAID mode.
Is RAID 1 or 5 better?
Key Differences Between Raid 1 vs Raid 5 Raid 1 can tolerate more than 1 disk failure, while Raid 5 allows fault tolerance of only 1 disk. Raid 5 has good failure resistance and better security. The performance is great in Raid 1, but in Raid 5, performance is slow due to disks’ redundancy.

How do I create a RAID array with the Optiplex?
For the Optiplex when in UEFI mode you hit F12 and click on device configuration, that will get you into the RAID BIOS, same thing as hitting CTRL+I. I also tried the legacy rom but never was prompted for the CTRL+I screen. But when I go into the RAID BIOS I can see both drives, but there is no option at the top to create an RAID array.
Can I create a RAID array in a Dell 5040?
Tried the drives in a Dell 5040, still no options to create an RAID array. I have the SATA operations set to RAID-On in the BIOS. The drive status are showing up as non-RAID disks, I don’t know if that means they are just not in an array, or if they cannot be in an array for some reason.
What is the size of the RAID configuration?
In a RAID 0 configuration, the size of the configuration is the size of the smallest drive multiplied by the number of drives (two) in the configuration. In a RAID 1 configuration, the size of the configuration is the smaller of the two drives used. Enter System Setup.
