Absolutely no food or drink after drinking the Readi-Cat. We suggest chilling the Readi-Cat.
Can I drink water with Readi-Cat?
You may chill the Readi-Cat or, if you prefer, drink it at room temperature. You may also drink water at any time during this time period. If you have any questions, please call our imaging staff at (717) 337-5991.

You should drink clear liquids ( WATER, BLACK COFFEE OR TEA, CRANBERRY JUICE, APPLE JUICE, OR JELLO). You may eat a cup of plain jell-o or sorbet, and take any medications that you need.

How should I store Readi-Cat 2?
Most of the time, Readi-Cat 2 (barium suspension) will be given in a hospital or doctor’s office. If stored at home, follow how to store as you were told by the doctor. Keep all drugs in a safe place.
How much barium sulfate is in a Readi-Cat 2?
BANANA SMOOTHIE Readi-Cat® 2 is a barium sulfate suspension 2.1% w/v, 2.0% w/w for oral administration. Each 100 mL contains 2.1 g barium sulfate.
What should I do if aspiration is suspected in Readi-Cat 2?
Discontinue administration of READI-CAT 2 products immediately if aspiration is suspected.
