Can you have a car on campus at Pitt?

Can freshmen have a car at Pitt?
We discourage bringing a car to campus for first-time freshman students who are not commuting. However, our policy does permit first-time students to have a car. To be eligible to purchase purchase a parking permit, students must be registered for fall class and have completed their new student orientation.

How much is street parking in Pittsburgh?
Rates for on-street parking vary from $0.50 to $4.00 per hour, based on the location. Street meters allow parking from 15 minutes up to 10 hours. Meters are enforced Monday – Saturday 8 am – 6 pm and can be paid using coins or credit /debit cards.
Where do I get my Pitt ID?
You get your Pitt ID at Panther Central, located in the Litchfield Towers Lobby, once you have enrolled into classes. Students who are required to take the English Language Proficiency exam upon arrival to campus are able to get their Pitt ID prior to enrolling into classes.
Can you have a car at Grove City College?
Recognizing the importance of student investment in their new community, Grove City College does not permit freshman students to have cars on campus (exceptions are made for unique circumstances and must be pre-approved by the Office of Campus Safety).
