How many questions are on the NBME 17?

The NBME is structured differently with four sections being an hour and fifteen minutes each. It is a total of 200 questions.
Are free NBMEs still available?
Free NBME Self-Assessments Available Through September 30, 2020. To help students continue to sharpen their knowledge during testing delays that may result from COVID-19, seven complimentary NBME Self-Assessments are available.
How many questions are on the NBME comp?
Format. There are multiple forms available for the Comprehensive Clinical Medicine Self-Assessment, each containing 176 multiple-choice questions. You can choose to take your self-assessment in either a standard-paced or self-paced format. The standard-paced option mimics a live testing environment.
Which NBME is most accurate?
Which NBMEs are the most predictive for Step 1? In our experience, since the new NBMEs were introduced, NBME form 18 has been the most predictive of students’ scores on test day. (Of the retired NBMEs, form 16 was the most predictive.)
What is a good first NBME score?
Students Who Score 250+ Start with Very High NBMEs. Students who end up with 240s on Step 1 have a variety of starting scores. I’ve had students start as low as the 130s end up with Step 1 scores in the 240s. However, for those who score 250s on Step 1, typically their starting scores are much higher.
Can you take an NBME more than once?
In general, students should not take more than one practice assessment per week. Students testing more frequently not only risk using up the NBMEs too quickly but are also likely not spending enough of their time studying and addressing weak areas prior to re-assessing knowledge.
What is the new NBME for Step 1 2021?
Currently, the available NBME CBSSA forms are Form 18, 20, 21, 22, 23 and 24 and are considered the best and most accurate way to assess one’s predicted performance on the USMLE Step 1. However, as of March 24th*, 2021, the NBME will be retiring all of the old CBSSA NBME forms and replacing them with 6 new NBME forms.
Which NBME is the hardest?
Similarly, NBME 13, which requires the fewest number of questions to reach a passing score, would be the hardest.
How do I pass comp?
The steps could be summarized as:
- Write down the hypothetical comp question.
- Use open resources.
- Create an outline to answer the question.
- Write as much as possible.
- Do not time yourself.
Is NBME harder than UWorld?
These exams, in terms of the question difficulty are much harder than the real exam. You will find out that the scoring is similar, but the questions on the UWorld exams are in much more detail and cover much more material than the NBME exams.
